World Rubber in Focus—Silk Road Cooperation Dialogue opened in Qingdao

For global integration and development, and for the industry's booming future, more than four hundred diplomats and industry constituents from Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, America, Russia, Italy, Spain, Germany, France, Japan, South Korea and other countries came to Qingdao, the intersection of maritime and overland Silk Road. They came to attend the World Rubber in Focus---Silk Road Cooperation Dialogue which is co-sponsored by Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, China National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation, China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation and China Rubber Industry Association. The conference is organized by Rubber Valley Group Co., Ltd. and co-organized by Qingdao University of Science and Technology and supported by following organizations and companies:China-ASEAN Expo Secretariat, Thai- Chinese Cultural & Relationship Council and Qingdao Branch of People's Insurance Company of China (PICC).

Tang Guoqiang, President of China National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation made an excellent speech named "One Belt and One Road to Rejuvenate Asia-Pacific region and Connect the World"; Phinij Jarusombat, President of Thai- Chinese Cultural & Relationship Council made a speech named "Cooperation and Development Strategies for Sino-Thai Natural Rubber"; Xu Wenying, Secretary-General and Vice-President of China Rubber Industry Association made a speech named "2014 Present Situation and Development Trends of China Rubber Industry"; Dato’Dr Kamarul Baharain Bin Basir, former Secretary-General of Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) presented a speech named "Strengthen Mutually Beneficial Cooperation between Natural Rubber Producing Countries".

Chemical and rubber industry is an important field in the economic and trade cooperation between Southeast Asian countries and China, said Phinij Jarusombat. Southeast Asian countries are the largest producers of natural rubber in the world, while China is the biggest consumer. Both sides have profound cooperation grounds in chemical and rubber field and the cooperation is endowed with a promising future. The ever deepening global economic integration has formed a close supply-demand relations in global chemical and rubber industry. We now cooperate with each other more openly, more deeply and more closely in terms of technical research, industrialized production, trade exchanges, talents training and cultural exchanges. All these lay a solid foundation for the 21 century maritime Silk Road.

As early as two thousand years ago, the Han Dynasty sent Zhang Qian to the western region. He opened the famous "Silk Road", which become an important channel for the political, economic and cultural exchange between ancient China and Asian and European countries. The maritime "Silk Road" made a contribution to the world trade development. Two thousand years later, the Silk Road becomes the new highlight of regional cooperation. In the CICA Summit (Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia) held in Shanghai, President Xi Jinping again talk about the construction of "Silk Road Economic Belt" and the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road" and calls for the deep integration and development of Asian countries.

World Rubber in Focus—Silk Road Cooperation Dialogue is closely related with the issue of the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road" and focuses on the topic "Silk Road, Rubber First". It serves as a communication platform between China and the countries along the Silk Road, especially the ASEAN countries. The win-win cooperation between China and ASEAN and the countries along the Silk Road will be bonded by the rubber industry.

During this dialogue, Agricultural Commission of Thailand, Voronezh State University and Global Times & Huanqiu.com will sign cooperation agreement with Rubber Valley Group Co., Ltd. As an important part of the China International Rubber Industry Expo (CIRI Expo), World Rubber in Focus---Silk Road Cooperation Dialogue is closely related with the issue of the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road" and focus on the topic "Silk Road, Rubber First". It serves as a communication platform between China and the countries along the Silk Road, especially the ASEAN countries. The win-win cooperation between China and ASEAN and the countries along the Silk Road will be bonded by the rubber industry.
