In response to the government’s call for a sustainable development strategy and the realization of energy-saving and emission reduction goal for green development in the rubber industry, the Green Rubber Materials Forum, a sub-forum of the 2014 World Rubber Forum, which was co-sponsored by China Rubber Industry Association and Rubber Valley Group Co., Ltd, was held in Qingdao International Convention Center on October 16, 2014.

    The forum invited many influential enterprises and experts in global rubber industry. It held high-end conversations and probed into some hot issues such as sustainable products and special carbon black of Rhein Chemie, environmental protection agents, framework materials (steel cords), environment-friendly renewable rubber and the research and application of other green materials.

    With the development of science and technology, "green" and "low-carbon" have been the trend of global economy. Rubber industry is closely related with low-carbon economy. The main raw material of rubber is fossil energy, such as synthetic rubber, carbon black, fibrous material, etc. The feedstock composition determines that we must adhere to the road of energy conservation and emission reduction for a low carbon economy. In its process of innovation and development, the rubber industry has defined its developing direction. In response to the government’s call of "To strive for green, circular and low-carbon development" and "To build a beautiful country", the rubber industry also make efforts to develop and apply the efficient, environment friendly and energy saving rubber through technological innovation. The forum will bring more common ground on sustainable development when it discusses the green rubber materials.
